FAQ
What is size and gender inclusive vintage clothing?
Gender Inclusion
Vintage clothing is for everyone! Wear what you like!
True vintage is clothing that is 20 years or older. Many vintage clothing brands come from an idea that clothing is either men's or women's. They might note this directly on the tag, have traditional men's or women's sizing or use button placement (men's places the buttons on the right side, women's on the left).
While we love vintage clothes, we love modern times and people's ability to express themselves however they choose. To help you navigate our clothes, we've added four different gender expression labels you can filter by on our website.
Everyone!
Every item of clothing currently on the website.
Feminine
Clothes that are labeled, size or buttoned traditionally for women. Clothes appearing feminine or excessively fitted to a curvy form.
Masculine
Clothes that are labeled, size or buttoned traditionally for men. Clothes appearing masculine or excessively loose or fitted to the shoulders.
Neutral
Sometimes referred to as unisex clothing. Clothing labels are not considered here. Clothes are are boxy, loose or containing less of a strict shape. T-shirts are often in this category.
Size Inclusive
We want everyone to be able to shop whatever clothes they want. To do this, we have sized items by our own Potluck Vintage Size Chart. Please consult this when shopping. If you are used to shopping for traditional mens clothing, you may need to size up. We also list the label size (if available) and measurements of the garment on each clothing details page.
What is your size chart?
If you're a lover of vintage clothing, you may be aware that clothing sizes have changed over the years.
This is a Potluck Vintage size chart - meant to streamline size and gender into one chart.
If you are used to shopping for men's clothing, you may need to size up. These measurements are approximate -- meant to help you search for clothing in your size range. As each item is unique, please see the measurements on the product for a better idea of fit. At the bottom of this page, you will find instructions on how to measure yourself.
